I started Pilates for aesthetic
reasons primarily. For most of my adult life, I had maintained a heavy
training schedule of running, weight training, swimming and cycling. My
physique was strong and slim, but the routine was giving my abs and legs a
boxy shape. After trying body sculpting, kick-boxing and every new
apparatus in the gym, I decided to try Pilates to obtain the shape I was
looking for.
I joined Sonia' s Pilates
Studio 2 years ago and within a couple of months from starting Pilates, my
entire body took on a new form, it took on a tighter and leaner look. What
surprised me the most, was that I had become stronger and fitter. The
small number of well performed and precisely executed exercises in Pilates
did more for my body than crunching out 100 sit-ups and hours in the gym!
Also, I've done better time in my running, and maintain better fitness and
form longer after not exercising for a while since starting Pilates.
Another great benefit that I
noticed was that most of the aches and pains in my back, neck and shoulders
also seemed to fade away, my doctor even prescribed Pilates for me so I
could expense costs against my benefits for back pain and headaches, and it
works. It all sounds too good to be true, but it is, I would gladly speak to
and refer anyone to participate in Sonia's programs if they want positive
results.
