Our Philosophy

 

Mindful Practice lead to Mindful Living

Mindfulness is our capacity to be fully present in our own lives, to be more fully aware of what we are doing as we are doing it. As we develop our awareness, an inner stillness naturally grows. We are better able to embrace the world, better able to respond wisely and lovingly.

Mindfulness engages us completely in the present moment, without being overwhelmed by our fears, anxieties, worries or sorrows. It allows us to live free of judgment, and to make everything in our daily lives sacred and full of meaning, even things as simple as washing the dishes or turning on an electric light.

To live in mindfulness is an art. It requires our attentiveness and skill, because it encourages us to live in the present moment.  The art of mindful living allows us to heal our relationships, live more consciously, and move through the world gracefully.

With the help of conscious breathing and conscious movement we are able to touch and be nourished by the peace and joy that are available within and around us, in the here and now.

You are a reflection of what yesterday’s thoughts created. You can begin now to consciously build a new healthier body that will serve you better and allow you to move through your life with increased strength, flexibility and vitality.

With mindful practice in PILATES and GYROTONIC®  your journey will not only make you flexible and strong but will guide you back to your inner awareness of effortless and graceful movement.

Body Evolutions Studio fitness activities are based on trusting the wisdom of your body. The paths to health, wholeness and enjoyment are unique to each of us and can be discovered by focusing attention within our bodies where sensations, feelings, emotions and intuitions abide. Through a consistent practice of "mindful" or focused activities, we learn how to tap into our inner intelligence and make choices leading to a life of integrity, fulfillment, peace and harmony.

Our goal is to provide instruction, ideas and resources for self-responsible health and total fitness in a supportive community with acceptance, care and laughter.

The key to success and mastery is in mindful practice.  Mindful practice is the mother of skill.  If you practice anything long enough with mindfulness you will master it.  "You get out of it what you put into it." 

Mindful practice is a journey who's branches will reach out and touch other areas of your life.  The roots of mindful practice are deep and strong, the benefits being more then flexibility, strength and balance in body, but in mind and spirit as well.
