This class is recommended for people new to to Pilates. Pilates mat work provides the time for learning the fundamentals of Pilates exercise and how to apply them to the exercises. Learn the principles of alignment, breath and, pelvic and scapular stabilization in an intimate class setting. Focus will be in the introduction of the basic principles of the Pilates Technique and the ten basic mat exercises.
All the exercises are safe for the joints and ligaments, and work specifically to develop the muscles that support them. The exercise repeats each movement only a few times, but with heightened body awareness and attention to the subtleties of the movement.
This class is good for those who wish to develop more strength and ease of movement. The workout is surprisingly relaxing and revitalizing. This class is an excellent compliment to Pilates private sessions on the machines. Start date is the first of each month.
